Yes, sometimes the Mad Pigeon uses his powers to do good!

As in 2006 and 2007, I'm wholeheartedly posting a public support message for my friend Chris Barron and the Race for the Cure.  I went to college with Chris and regard him as a very good friend, and was saddened to hear of his friend Heather's death to breast cancer.

I've donated every year since 2002, and plan to do so again this year.

At the very least, I hope the mad pigeoneers spread the word for this cause!

It is that time of the year again - time to come together to help raise money to fight breast cancer in support of Team Heather. PLEASE take a moment today to act.

I know breast cancer has touched your life somehow; breast cancer seems to knock on everyone’s door eventually - whether in the form of a family member, friend, neighbor, co-worker, classmate, church member, or your own personal battle.

Heather was my partner Shawn’s baby sister. Heather lost her battle with breast cancer at just 26, only months after she was married. While Heather lost the battle, she hasn’t lost the war. The good folks who make up Team Heather, led by Shawn, and our generous supporters continue to wage Heather’s fight against this terrible disease.

I know that lots of folks ask for your financial support, and there are many, many worthy causes. There are, however, few stories as compelling as Heather’s and few causes that will touch so many as the fight against breast cancer. Please give today. If not for Heather, than give for your mother or your sister or your partner or your wife or your daughter or your neighbor or your co-worker. Give so that some day no one will have to battle this terrible disease.
